BDS (Birm) 1992
GDC No. 68087
Joining the family business with my father in 1992 was the start of my career in Dentistry. Since then we have evolved and developed an amazing Practice with a fabulous team.
Dentistry isn't just a job for me, it's my life. I enjoy meeting my patients both current and new on a daily basis. The relationship you have with your dentist is crucial if you are to feel confident and relaxed when you come to see us and that has always been my primary goal- to make people happy.
Its a running family joke that a “quick visit to the supermarket for milk” usually turns into an hour trip as I'm constantly seeing people I know and If you know me you’ll know I like to chat.
“You learn something every day” as the saying goes and in the field of Dentistry that is certainly the case. Over the years I have developed my techniques and skills attending courses in a wide range of areas. Constantly trying to make myself the best version of “me” that I can be.
One area that has really changed the way we work is Digital Dentistry. Our digital journey started over 16 years ago when we adopted the Cerec system and has developed further since. Its an area that will evolve hugely in the near future and I'm excited to learn more. The biggest benefit is to our patients- the speed, convenience and cost saving elements as well as eliminating certain procedures like having impressions taken and reducing the use of anaesthetics.
Away from the surgery I enjoy Cycling- both on and off road. Its my religion so to speak. I’ve always had a passion for adrenaline sports (blame the parents!) and Rallying, Skiing (water and snow), Triathlons and golf have all played a major part in my life.
I am so lucky to have two amazing daughters and a partner who share my passions too. I know where my skill set is and Ill leave the culinary skills to others!
I have in the past been an active member of the Round Table organisation which was instrumental in developing contacts and relationships in and around Wetherby.
If you don't know me and you're looking for a new Dentist, all you have to do is come and meet the team and myself and I’m sure we will put a smile on your face and make you happy.
BDS (Lond) 1988, MSc (Lond) 1992, MClinDent (Lon) 2004
GDC No. 64014
I qualified from King’s College London in 1988 and then spent a year as a House Officer gaining further experience in Oral Surgery and Children’s dentistry. Following that I worked in Oral Pathology at The Royal London Hospital for several years, studying dental disease and gaining an MSc in the subject. However I decided that academia was not for me and that I would rather spend my time treating and helping patients. So I moved into practice where I have remained since, starting in London, moving to Surrey and ultimately up to Yorkshire.
I thoroughly enjoy the more advanced side of restoring people’s mouths and therefore undertook another Masters whilst working in practice, again through King’s. I gained a distinction in my Master of Clinical Dentistry in 2004, in addition to a much greater understanding of various treatments available. This, I believe, allows me to consider all options for my patients, rather than being narrowly focused.
Away from work, when I am not busy with my family, I have always enjoyed trying to keep fit. I spent several years with Wetherby Runners, however having rowed in the dim and distant past, I have recently started up again. I joined York City Rowing Club last year and thoroughly enjoy getting out on the river again; I should never have stopped although I should have remembered how much training is involved!
Specialist in Oral Surgery
BDS (Newc) 1990, FDS RCS (Edin) 1994
GDC No. 65422
I qualified from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne Dental School more years ago than I choose to remember. I spent the first 10 years post qualification, in higher training, working in Oral Surgery in a variety of hospitals and Dental Hospitals in Newcastle and Leeds. I met and married my husband in the North East, but our jobs have allowed us to remain settled in Yorkshire.
I had the fantastic opportunity to work in Toronto for a year in 1998. Here, I worked with the internationally renowned implantologist, George Zarb. On returning to the UK, I have spent a good portion of my clinical time performing implants.
Returning to Yorkshire, I worked in an NHS practice as a general Dentist, and Oral Surgeon. For the last 14 years has I have been part of the great team at Ashby Dental, in Wetherby, where I have built my own book, caring for people under my care, and providing a full service of dentistry, as well as Oral Surgery and Implant work, by referral.
When not at work, I can be found out with my horse, Mirah. We enjoy a whole range of horse activities, and are members of Harewood Combined Training Group, and I am keen to start moving up the grades with Le Trec, our local group is White Horse Trec.
Running and cycling are other favourite ways to get out & about and enjoy some fresh air, in stunning countryside.

I work hard to put everyone at ease so the experience is as positive and comfortable as possible.

Head Dental Nurse & Decontamination lead
Qual- National Certificate NEBDN 2005
GDC No. 105080
I started out on my career as a dental nurse in 1980 at that time all the training was done “on the job" this form of training served me well until compulsory registration and qualification were introduced. So I took the plunge and sat the exam passing in 2005. Chair side involving patient care has always made up most of my daily work but dentistry has changed and this opened up a new avenue for me which involved compliance /health & safety legislation.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, cycling and travelling. During these foreign trips I always have a good crime novel with me feeding my fascination with forensic pathology and all things CSI.
Finally my motto in life is Work Hard – Travel Far.
